My Story

My name is George, I’m 27 from Hertfordshire.

Independent Carpenter and Joiner, specialising in interior 2nd fix carpentry.

Also offering general handyman services!

With an 'A-Level' in Resistant Materials ('A' Grade) as well as a 2.1 BSc (Hons) Degree in Building Surveying behind me, it felt like a good idea to thrust myself into 'the real world' and cut my teeth in 'SaaS' sales across various startups in London and Copenhagen, before naturally gravitating back to the Built Environment at the start of the Covid-19 lockdown, specifically within Carpentry and Joinery.

After quickly not feeling suited to the corporate world and growing quickly tired of it, I decided to quit my job at the start of the lockdown to go and work on a nearby mixed-use property development - allowing me to get out of the house and on-site with a few people each day. This also gave me the opportunity to get back on the tools and rekindle my passion for woodworking and design. Subsequently, off the back off this, I was involved with setting up of a woodworking business during the lockdown period with a family member, making flat-pack Montessori-inspired furniture in my parent's garage and shipping it worldwide (Bear Wood Furniture).

Having recently begun operating under GRK Carpentry Ltd, I'm currently working independently on a range of bespoke carpentry projects, and ongoing general handyman services. While working independently, I am connected with other trades for larger projects when needed.

For storage and organisation projects, I'm more than happy to take complete ownership of the project/transformation, but equally, I enjoy working closely with the client if they want to tailor it to suit specific needs and wants. You have full control over the level of input you want to have. Some people like storage to be open and easy, and some like more specific and systematic fit-outs.

My CAD skills allow me to produce an accurate and scaled 3D model of the product or project area, allowing easy visualisation of the project, ensuring there are no surprises and also easily allowing changes to be made before work on the project begins.

Please don't hesitate to contact me with any questions, or new enquiries;

Cheers,

George
