GRK Van Fit Out
A tidy and organised van is the key to a smooth and enjoyable project.
I also feel it's a good advert for my work and design, and can often catch the eye of passers by when all opened up.

When first starting out, and knowing less than I did now, I fitted it out with old chunk 4x2s I had laying around, but felt this was a heavy and innefficient use of the space. After a year of operating, I realised how much better I could optimise the space, and building it out using lightweight poplar ply.

I was able to position the items I need daily/for every job easily, and placed the lesser used items more in the middle of the van.
I was wondering whether I should have purchased a bigger van, but with the new fit out I actually have space to grow and a few spare boxes/areas, which I will happily now fill with more gear!

It always surprises clients with how much I have squirrelled away in there, a lot of which you can't see, even with a few hidden hatches in places for a bit of fun!

I wanted to leave a clear half for cargo and materials, and also utilising the two side sliding doors, to create a 'walled off' cupboard style area for my mitre saw, vacuums and other items that felt naturally grouped together.

Creating kits, or areas of the van for specific types of jobs has really streamlined things and made setting up/packing up a joy and so much quicker.
